My original Mod Mosaic tutorial was for making a pillow but, after using the method to make blocks for a couple of quilts, I found that I had revised and refined my technique. You can download a pdf file below with instructions for my updated Mod Mosaic piecing technique. It's a lot of fun and a great way to use up scraps. I also think it's a fabulous, if somewhat unconventional, way to use fussy-cut pieces of your favorite print fabrics.

Charm (and 10!) Squares Quilts
in Quilts
The simple construction of these quilts is perfect for beginners and a great way to show off favorite fabrics.
The original version of this quilt, which I made for Sew, Mama, Sew! several years ago, was designed to use a pack of precut 5" squares. This updated version of the pattern includes a Twin (or, if you prefer, Large Lap) quilt version made using 10" squares.
Both versions can be made using precut squares, squares cut from your scraps and stash, or a combination of the two. Straight line quilting with a walking foot is the perfect way to finish these simple quilts.
