ROBOTS

Start your very own robot factory!

My Robots pattern includes instructions for making a 69” x 85” Large Quilt and a 48” x 48” Small Quilt, featuring five robot models. Everything is made with conventional patchwork piecing, including mostly straight seams. (These quilts use many fewer diagonal seams than most of my sampler patterns!)

Printed booklet patterns are shipping now! Your favorite quilt shop can order them from my distributors.

Pdf patterns will be available starting March 1, 2022.

FABRIC & KITS

Use colorful fat quarters to make the robot bodies and charm squares to make the “screens” on the robot’s bellies. The pattern includes a detailed fabric chart showing the colorful fabrics I used in my quilt including Kona Solids and prints from my Planetarium and Paintbox collections.

The Background of my quilt is Essex yarn-dyed Indigo, and my Medium and Dark Solid Detail fabrics are Kona Metal and Pepper.

Planetarium fabric and kits for my Large Robots Quilt are available for wholesale preorder from Robert Kaufman Fabrics for shipping in April 2022.

CLARIFICATIONS FOR PATTERN DIAGRAMS

These corrections to diagrams apply to the first printing of the pattern, and pdf patterns sold before June 15, 2022. I’m sorry for this confusion!

  • On Page 4, the diagram for subcutting Fabric 1 says to to cut a piece for the Model 4 block measuring 8-1/2” x 21”. You may notice that the diagram depicts a smaller, 8-1/2” x 11” rectangle. Either size will give you enough fabric for the Model 4 blocks, and will leave enough fabric for the other blocks.

  • On Page 17, Fig 2. the VR units should be mirror-images of one another, with pieces R next to the head (like ears). Fig. 2 incorrectly shows the unit on the right as being identical to the one on the left (so the right “ear” isn’t touching the head). The diagram on this page shows the correct placement of the VR units.
