Rapid City

Inspired by a fabulous mid-century vacation getaway, this quilt features stylized cabins and trees perfect for showcasing your favorite colors and prints. Even better, everything is patchwork pieced with straight seams!

ABOUT THE PATTERN

This is a patchwork-pieced pattern. The blocks are made entirely of rotary-cut squares and rectangles, and everything is sewn together using straight seams.

Among my patterns, Rapid City is rated Skill Level 2 (of 5). You can read more about skill levels here.

ABOUT THE FABRIC

The Colorful Cabin Fabrics can be prints, solids, or a combination of the two. Don't hesitate to fussy cut some pieces to highlight your favorite prints!

My sample quilt was made using my Fall 2019 Library print collection for Robert Kaufman and Library Kona Solid Coordinates. You can download a fabric guide for this quilt below.

ABOUT THE QUILTING

My sample quilt was free-motion quilted by me, on my Janome 1600p, using a pattern of meandering squares.
