Greenhouse
This revised second edition includes the same great patchwork Aloe, Jade, Prickly, Flower, and Cactus plants with simplified modern planters and a fresh new layout.
QUILT SIZES
Greenhouse quilts are made with five different plants, 6" x 11". Each plant will be sewn to a 5" x 6" planter to make a 6" wide x 16" tall block.
SMALL QUILT
The 44" x 44" Small Quilt is made with one of each block.
LAP QUILT
The 60" x 74" Lap Quilt is made with 28 blocks.
LARGE QUILT
The 76" x 91" Large Quilt is made with 45 blocks.
ABOUT THE PATTERN
This is a patchwork pattern. All fabric is rotary cut and sewn together using conventional patchwork piecing.
This pattern also includes diagrams and charts showing all of the pieces needed to make each block. You can use these as a reference while making the pattern projects, or as a guide for making individual blocks and scrappy projects.
Among my patterns, Greenhouse is rated Skill Level 4 (of 5). You can read more about skill levels here.
ABOUT THE FABRIC
The pattern includes instructions for making the blocks for the Lap and Large Quilts from 10" x 10" squares or fat quarters. Fabric guides for the cover quilt (using fat quarters) and the rainbow-colored Large Quilt (using 10" squares) are included in the pattern and can also be downloaded below.
ABOUT THE QUILTING
My cover sample was quilted by Emily Hoppe of So Sunny Quilts using Moon Phases by Mistletoe Quilting Co.
ORIGINAL EDITION
Greenhouse was originally published in 2017 and featured samples made with my Terrarium collection for Robert Kaufman. Both the original version of the pattern, and my Terrarium fabric collection are now out of print.
Those who already have a copy of the original edition of the pattern can use the link below to download a pattern supplement that explains how to make quilts that look like the ones in the current edition using the 2017 pattern.
THE SMALL PRINT
Greenhouse © 2017 and 2023 by Elizabeth Hartman. This pattern may not be used to make items for sale in any quantity or venue. No part of this pattern may be reproduced or distributed without the express written consent of the author.
WHERE TO BUY
