ABOUT THE PATTERN

This is a patchwork pattern. All fabric is rotary cut and sewn together using conventional patchwork piecing.

This pattern includes a diagram and chart showing all of the pieces needed to make each block. You can use this as a reference while making the pattern projects, or as a guide for making individual blocks and scrappy projects.

Among my patterns, Fancy Fox is rated Skill Level 1 (of 5). You can read more about skill levels here.

ABOUT THE FABRIC

You can make Fancy Fox blocks with precut 10" x 10" squares (such as Moda Layer Cakes or Robert Kaufman 10-Squares), precut 2-1/2" x WOF strips (such as Moda Jelly Rolls or Robert Kaufman Roll-Ups), 9" x 21" fat eighths, or 18" x 21" fat quarters.

You will also need Light Solid Fabric for the Muzzles, Dark Solid Fabric for the Eyes and Noses, and a mid-tone Background Fabric.

MULTICOLOR SAMPLE

My sample Lap Quilt was made with a Roll-Up of my Planetarium collection for Robert Kaufman Fabrics. The background is Essex Yarn-Dyed Steel. The detail fabrics are Kona Snow and Pepper.'

KONA SOLIDS SAMPLE

My sample Lap Quilt was made with fat quarters of Kona Orange, Mango, Kumquat, Goldfish, Terracotta, Nectarine, and Pimento. The background is Essex Yarn-Dyed Nutmeg. The detail fabrics are Kona Snow and Espresso.
