Fancy Forest is made with color-coded sets of blocks.

SMALL QUILT

The 35" x 47" Small Quilt is made with two sets of blocks.

LARGE QUILT

The 67" x 91" Large Quilt is made with eight sets of blocks.

ABOUT THE PATTERN

This is a patchwork pattern. All fabric is rotary cut and sewn together using conventional patchwork piecing. 

This pattern also includes diagrams and charts showing all of the pieces needed to make each block. You can use these as a reference while making the pattern projects, or as a guide for making individual blocks and scrappy projects.

ABOUT THE FABRIC

Each set of Fancy Forest blocks (one each of Allie Owl, Bunny, Thistle, and Hazel Hedgehog, and two of Fancy Fox) is made with groups of 5 coordinating fat quarters (18" x 21" each). Each group should include a range of value, from lightest (Fabric 1) to darkest (Fabric 5).

You will need 2 groups (10 total fat quarters) for the Small Quilt, or 8 groups (40 total fat quarters) for the Large Quilt.

ABOUT THE QUILTING

My sample was free-motion quilted by me, on my Janome 1600p, using a woodgrain pattern. For longarm quilting, any similar edge-to-edge design should look great!

ORIGINAL EDITION

Fancy Forest was originally published in 2015 and featured samples made with my Pacific collection for Robert Kaufman, which is now out of print.
