QUILT SIZES
SMALL QUILT
The 48” x 48” Small Quilt includes two of each block, and is made with 12 colorful fat quarters. The background of my sample is Kona Chalkboard.
LARGE QUILT
The 69” x 85” Large Quilt includes six of each block, and is made with 36 colorful fat quarters. The background of my sample is Kona Moss.
ABOUT THE PATTERN
This is a patchwork-pieced pattern. The blocks are made entirely of rotary-cut squares and rectangles, and everything is sewn together using conventional patchwork techniques. No templates or paper piecing!
This pattern includes a large number of pieces, many of which are small, but the same basic patchwork piecing techniques are used throughout. The pattern includes detailed cutting directions, including charts that show all of the pieces included in each block. The instructions for making each block include both written directions and full-color diagrams for each step.

ABOUT THE FABRIC
The samples shown in my pattern were made for Spring 2020, using a combination of my Paintbox print collection, my Kitchen Window Wovens gingham collection, and Robert Kaufman basics like Kona Solids and Essex Linen Blends. As of Spring 2024, the Robert Kaufman kits and fat quarter bundles for these quilts have been out of production for a couple of years and may be hard to find.
If you want to make quilts that look like my samples, I recommend using the fabric guides in the pattern to select fabrics (maybe from your existing stash?) in similar colors and prints. The key to duplicating the look of my sample quilts is to create fabric groups that are monochromatic, but include a variety of values, from light to dark. Solids, wovens, and simple prints will work the best for this project.
ABOUT THE QUILTING
My sample quilts were both free-motion quilted by me, on my Janome 1600p, using a pattern of meandering points. For longarm quilting, any similar edge-to-edge design should look great!
