QUILT AND PILLOW SIZES

Bjorn Bear blocks measure 12" tall x 13" wide.

PILLOW

The 20" x 20" Pillow is made with one block.

CHILD QUILT

The 51" x 63" Child Quilt is made with 12 blocks.

LAP QUILT

The 66" x 78" Lap Quilt is made with 20 blocks.

PICNIC QUILT

The 81" x 78" Picnic Quilt is made with 25 blocks.

ABOUT THE PATTERN

This is a patchwork pattern. All fabric is rotary cut and sewn together using conventional patchwork piecing.

This pattern also includes a diagram and chart showing all of the pieces needed to make each block. You can use this as a reference while making the pattern projects, or as a guide for making individual blocks and scrappy projects.

ABOUT THE FABRIC

All fabrics used in my samples are from Robert Kaufman Fabrics.

CHILD QUILT

My Lap Quilt sample was made using fabrics from my Fall 2015 Pacific collection, which is no longer available. You can make a quilt with a similar color palette using the following Kona Solids:

Row 1: Yarrow, Mocha, Cocoa
Row 2: Sangria, Sable, Curry
Row 3: Cedar, Terracotta, Brown
Row 4: Chestnut, Grellow, Cerise

The background of this quilt is Essex Yarn-Dyed Flax. The Light and Dark Solid Detail Fabrics are Kona Snow and Kona Espresso.

LAP QUILT

My Lap Quilt sample was made using 20 Kona Solids, as follows:

Row 1: Flame, Cantaloupe, Tangerine, Grellow
Row 2: Sunny, Orangeade, Lemon, Yarrow
Row 3: Meringue, Duckling, Fog, Buttercup
Row 4: Curry, Astral, Waterfall, Stratosphere
Row 5: Robin Egg, Alegria, Dusty Blue, Blueprint

The background of this quilt is Essex Yarn-Dyed Shale. The Light and Dark Solid Detail Fabrics are Kona Snow and Kona Pepper.

PICNIC QUILT

My Picnic Quilt sample was made using my 2014 Designer Palette of 25 Kona Solids. They are used in the quilt as follows:

Row 1: Shadow, Pewter, Graphite, Shale, Seafoam
Row 2: Aqua, Pool, Breakers, Cyan, Celestial
Row 3: Corn Yellow, Wasabi, Peapod, Bluegrass, Emerald
Row 4: Peach, Mango, Carrot, Flame, Tomato
Row 5: Thistle, Pansy, Violet, Cerise, Valentine

The background of this quilt is Essex Yarn-Dyed Steel. The Light and Dark Solid Detail Fabrics are Kona Snow and Kona Espresso.

ABOUT THE QUILTING

My Picnic Quilt sample was free-motion quilted by me, on my Janome 1600p, in a pattern of meandering squares. My Lap Quilt sample was longarm quilted by 47 Stitches using Retro Lines 2 by Kristen Hoftyzer.

OPTIONAL GLASSES APPLIQUE

This pattern includes a full-size glasses pattern that you can use to make a raw-edge appliqué for one or more of your blocks.
