This update of a project I originally wrote for Sew, Mama, Sew is made using Monica Solorio Snow's Sew Yummy collection for Cloud 9 Fabrics and Robert Kaufman's Essex linen blend in Yarn-Dyed Steel.
The pincushion is weighted with rice, so you can perch it on the edge of your sewing table or favorite comfy chair. I've never had any trouble using rice to weight projects like this but, if you feel like it would be a bad choice for your climate or proximity to wildlife, please don't hesitate to substitute the filling of your choice. You'll just want to make sure that whatever you use is heavy enough to hold the organizer in place.
