Flannel Shirts for Randolph & Rudy

Randolph and Rudy like their holiday sweaters and fancy plaid pants, but sometimes they want to wear something a little more comfortable - like these flannel shirts and jeans.

I love mixing textures in quilts, and this one has lots of them! I used Essex Yarn-Dyed linens and Kona Solids to make Randolph and Rudy, Mammoth Flannel for the shirts (with Kona Solid collars and trim), and Robert Kaufman's Light Indigo Wash Denim (the same one I used to make Basil and Bertie's overalls in The Bunny Bunch) for the jeans. The background is Kona O.D. Green.

Emily Hoppe of So Sunny Quilts did a fabulous job quilting this one with Jessica Schick's Woodgrain panto.

Are you ready to make some flannel-wearing bears and deer?!

I've written a Flannel Shirts for Randolph & Rudy supplement, which can be used with my Randolph & Rudy pattern to make quilts with bears and deer wearing flannel shirts and jeans instead of holiday sweaters and plaid pants. The quilts have the same layouts as the original pattern. The blocks are just wearing different outfits. The pattern supplement includes a fabric guide for making the flannel shirts shown in the 39" x 50" Small Quilt and 64" x 73" Large Quilt shown above.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Flannel Shirts for Randolph & Rudy is a supplement to my Randolph & Rudy pattern, not a stand-alone project. You will need both Flannel Shirts for Randolph & Rudy, and Randolph & Rudy to make these quilts.

Psst! Basil Bunny and Randolph and Rudy wear the same size clothes, so you can also use my Pajamas for The Bunny Bunch pattern supplement with the Randolph and Rudy pattern to make Randolph and Rudy blocks wearing pajamas.

In the mini quilt above, Randolph and Rudy are wearing pajamas made with my Kitchen Window Wovens gingham in Flame and Pickle, and Kona Solids in Flame and Pickle.
